  • Date: 5/19/2022 08:00 AM - 5/22/2022 04:00 PM
  • Location: To Be Announced

Topics that we typically spend time with (but can be tailored to the desires and experience of the guests) are;

  • Glacier travel, and crevasse rescue on skis
  • Steep snow climbing techniques with and without crampons and ski crampons (harscheissen), Ice axe self arrest
  • Mountain navigation and route finding from an uphill and downhill perspective with use of current technology
  • Timing of ascent and descents to minimize risk and maximize ski quality
  • Introduction to techniques for more secure downhill riding including use of a rope.
  • Mountain weather, spring snowpack considerations
  • Winter/spring camping ie. how to live in style in the mountains!

-We aim to practice these skills and of course, do some skiing and riding in the process. If a peak descent is high on the list, we can adjust our goals accordingly.
